One Love Tribe,

We come to you with another blog post! Before we dive in, we want to express our deepest sympathy to all of our fellow Kentuckians who were or have loved ones who were affected by last weekends tornado tragedy. No words can properly express our sorrow and grief for those who have lost everything throughout our state.

In our previous blog post we discussed the marketing difficulties we face as business in the cannabis industry. With the new day comes a new challenge, and as of this week we were informed that we have been blacklisted and will not be able to send text messages out to our loyalty customers for the foreseeable future.

Recently passed FTC regulations state that businesses cannot reference cannabis, hemp, or CBD in their text communications. There seems to be an extensive list of banned words that have not been made public, leaving each business in the dark regarding which words are compliant. Through trial and error, we have been able to discover a short list of words that are are flagged – such as, “gummy,” “infuse,” “milligrams,” and “vape” are all banned from use. Regardless, we have been committed to playing by the rules. In November, an administrative problem on the backend of our loyalty texting system rejected/banned texts that were drafted, but later, sent all the rejected texts! The software failure resulted in texts with banned words being sent, and One Love was then blacklisted from texting. We are hoping to appeal this decision since it was not through any fault of our own.

With that being said, our blog posts have now become much more important! In using this method to communicate with our customers, we are not filtered and can will be regularly making posts to give you all updates about our products, discounts and everything else One Love related. Stop by to see what is new, cannabis news, and get your discount codes previously sent by text!
